I’m a second year film student from Deakin University, Burwood Campus Melbourne and my film crew is currently working with a heist film for one of our units. Auditions will be at Deakin Friday 20th of April 5-7pm.
Shooting days are still to be confirmed, but we have the camera between the 30th April-3rd May, and shooting will be 2x10 hours days. We will also have a day the week before where we’ll go thorugh the script and get the chemistry right between the actors.
DESCRIPTION
Heist short film with a hint of comedy. Actors have to be natural witty. Written in a light style, and the key to this film is the chemistry between the actors as it always is in a heist film like Oceans Eleven.
SEVERANCE PAY
ACT ONE: Four employees begin in a board room, having a meeting with their boss. They find out they are being fired without severance pay, and then plan to hack their boss’s bank account when they leave the office in two weeks.
In this act, we are establishing Charles as the main protagonists as he is the narrator, the voice of the group who is introducing the others around the table when they plan the heist.
Charles is the voice of reason. He drags the others into doing the heist to justify the unfair treatment from their boss.
ACT TWO: Two weeks later, on their last day at work, they are working overtime. They are planning to do the heist, but when breaking into the boss’ office - the boss is in his office) – Rat Boy panics, and knocks out the boss, and hits him again once he’s unconscious.) Charlie instructs Rat Boy to get rid of the body, while Goggles begins guessing passwords for the Boss’s accounts. Chatterbox keeps watch; these are all on Charles’ instructions. The group quickly manages to hack the accounts and steal the funds (And finding out of the boss’ illegal money transfers out of the country), and make a hasty escape back to the car parked outside. Rat boy is seated in the drivers seat as the group gets in the vehicle. They hear a thump from the boot, and realize Rat boy has stowed the boss in the trunk.
ACT THREE: Panicking, the group leave the car and rush to the boot, opening it and confronting their boss who is slowly regaining consciousness – Rat Boy rectifies this by knocking out the boss again. They argue of what to do with the boss. Charles is commanding Rat Boy to dump the body on the sidewalk with a police station and drive off into the night.
