Poleroid Theatre was founded in 2011 by actress Molly Roberts. Poleroid provides a creative space and hub for young, emerging actors, writers, directors and musicians to experiment, perform and showcase their talent and craft in an industry driven by television talent competition winners and “names” plastering our West-end stages.
Poleroid aims to discover exhilarating new writing and work with it to create fast-paced, thought-provoking theatre. Our debut production FlickBook premiered at Theatre503, Battersea in November 2011 receiving rave reviews and being dubbed “Top of this weeks list for all London theatre-goers” by Remotegoat. We have gone on to work on two more projects collaborating with writers from the Royal Court Young Writers Programme, Live Theatre Newcastle, BBC 3 & Channel 4 at venues such as Etcetera, White Bear & Cockpit Theatres.
Everyone who works with us shows a true incentive to create exciting, affordable, snap-shot theatre for a modern audience.
NEXT PROJECT: OPPORTUNITY FOR WRITERS
We are continually developing new writing projects and are looking to work on our first full-length piece to be performed for a 4 week run in late 2012/early 2013 in a top London venue. If you have a play you’d like to see produced by Poleroid we are now accepting submissions. The play will be developed and workshopped with us over the coming months.
