"Your child’s portrait could be a winner! The contest concept first started in 1986, raises funds for ‘Cure Kids’. The$30 donation for the competition is given directly to Cure Kids, who havebeen conducting lifesaving research for over 35 years and have helped fundworld first breakthroughs in cot death, childhood leukaemia, and cysticfibrosis. The place getters in the Internet based National Final, is judged by publicvote from portraits displayed in regional finals at supporting shoppingcentres throughout New Zealand.

The least $30 goes towards the Photo Kids Charity, and the rest goes to the running of the competition.

The Photo Kids Portrait Contest has raised $ 6,000 for Cure kids this year
and attracted intense interest around the country. Now in its eighteenth
year the Photo Kids Portrait Contest has raised over $370,000 for children’s
health research.

Photographer Gerry Leibbrandt has been involved with this contest and Child
Health research since 2002.

Nominations are now being accepted for the 2013 competition by completing
the Photo Kids 2013 Contest Entry form

The contest is open to boys and girls from birth to nineteen years including
siblings.

Each participant receives a professional creative portrait session for a $30
donation to Cure Kids. Parents select their favourite image to go into the
competition. Cure Kids funds vital medical research into childhood diseases
and illnesses which benefits all New Zealand children.

What could I win?
A $5000 travel voucher.

What do I need to do?

It’s simple:

You donate $30 to enter your Child into the competition.

As a Photo Kids photographer, we provide a full professional
photographic session for free.

Your chosen portrait photo of your child will then be entered into the
regional contests held around the country in April of the following year,
with the finalists chosen by public vote going through to the national
final.

Members of the public make a minimum ($2) donation for each vote, which
covers the 12 categories

If you wish, you can order portrait prints direct from our studio.

Who benefits?
Well, everyone! Your child’s professional portrait goes into the contest and
you may even win the fantastic, travel voucher for your family. Cure Kids
receives much needed funds for research and we get the pleasure of knowing
that our profession is continuing to support a very worthy cause.

Rebecca Dixon has cystic fibrosis, a genetic life threatening disease which
impairs breathing. Beccy says she is living proof that research works
because thanks to the research funded by Cure Kids, children with her
disease have doubled their life expectancy.

All minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
