Le Burlesque au Moulin Rouge is an original stage production based on the hit films "Burlesque" and "The Moulin Rouge," with additional songs from Chicago and the US drama Smash. Speakeasy is an established Wellington-based theatre company with two hit musicals behind it and and a third in the making.

We are looking for a cello, viola, two violins, trumpet and doubled tenor sax/clarinet to fill out places in our orchestra. The arrangements are based on those from the original films and so cover a variety of genres from classical to rock to jazz. The music is not complex but will require performance experience and strong sight-reading to minimise the rehearsal period and make the production that much better.

String and brass rehearsals will start in September. The season is October 4-13, and musicians will be required throughout this period and for dress rehearsals immediately before.
