On Monday evening in Wellington, CineZoo and StarNow hosted Director Paul Murphy and Casting Director Tina Cleary for an informal chat about casting and making films.

It was a fantastic night and local filmmaker Chaz Harris has written a blog about the evening and his thoughts on making a short film.

Congratulations to StarNow member Alex Pratt who was 1st runner up in the commercial model category at Top Model UK 2011. A fantastic achievement!

The grand final for the Commercial category was held on Friday 25th March at the Hilton Metropole, London. She was up against 39 strong contestants in an amazing evening of runway shows and fashion.

On the 4th of April at the Paramount theatre We are lucky to be hosting Director Paul Murphy and Casting agent Tina Cleary. Paul and Tina have worked together on films such as ‘Second Hand Wedding’ and will give a lovely insight into the complexities of casting and working together to create the perfect characters. Paul will also share with us some basic rules for practical filmmaking and just general tips and tricks he’s learnt along the way. Tina will also share with us some of her experiences when casting for major features and hopefully give us some insight into what to look for when casting or going for a role.

So don’t miss it! It will be a great event and there will be a lot of knowledge in the room I believe...

Also note that we have the Bergman room at the Paramount this time so get there early to get yourself a ticket as seating is limited!!
