I have no acting experience of note, and would therefore expect to only be considered for background/extra work, probably non-speaking, whilst I gain experience.

I’ve been a bassist for 30 years, in various (mainly London-based) bands. My playing style is mainly plectrum based, or fingers (no slap). I only play four string basses and my favoured styles are Indie, pop, and rock. I have a collection of guitars and basses that can suit most musical genres, as well as transport and a 300w Ampeg Valve Amp and cabs (one 15" cab, plus 4x10’s). I favour older equipment such as Fender Precisions and Jazz basses from 1960 to 1980, plus have my own self-designed and self-built bass.

My natural style is rhythm-based but melodic. I always strive to deliver exactly what the song needs – rather than attempting to showcase my abilities. Usually, this entails a setting up a simple but effective groove; locking in with the drums; and acting as a support and foundation for the rest of the band. I have a theory that a really good bass line is not heard: it’s felt, and if someone notices what you’re playing on a bass... you’re probably doing it wrong!

I have plenty of experience in both live and recording work, and am available for all kinds of music work, including sessions or short term replacements. My timing and availability is completely flexible as I’m self-employed.

I’m very interested in work within the entertainments industry, as an extra for stage, film or TV (speaking or non-speaking). Ex-graphic designer and owner of a London Design Consultancy, with excellent drawing and draughting skills.
