I live and work between Dublin and London so would love the opportunity to be considered for roles in both.

I am looking for feature film and TV work as well short films and voice-over work. I am also a freelance writer, playwright and singer so any writing/vocal work would be of interest as well.

I have sang and performed for many years in Ireland, the UK and the US.
I have played the piano since I was 6 and I am novice guitarist having finally gotten around to learning it after years of intentions to do do!

Training wise, I was in the Billie Barry stage school in Dublin from between 1991 and 1996 and did various shows with them for both TV and pantomime. My singing continued later focusing on jazz and I was in a few bands in London between 2003 - 2009 performing at weddings, charity events and balls (this was mostly commercial stuff mixed with some acoustic gigs).

I was fortunate enough receive private voice training from Craig Wich when I lived in Boston in 2008/2009 who is a highy respected voice coach from the Boston Conservatory and whose CV includes coaching many broadway shows and stars. I have also done some training with Conor Farren in the Abbey School of Music and Drama, Dublin.

I was also part of the New England gospel choir when I was in Boston which was an amazing experience and I sang and performed with some incredibly talented people between 2008 and 2009.

I have recorded various demos over the years and would say that my style is modern jazz - a mixture of Amy Winehouse and Joss Stone with maybe a hint of Alicia Keys, Adele andJessie J thrown in there but I can sing a wide variety of music from Irish traditional to commercial pop and have done vocals for many funky house/dance tracks including a track called 'Love Slides' which won a Best unsigned artist award in the UK in 2003 for Future Music Magazine/Hard to Find Records (HTFR). I am also an avid musical theatre fan.

  • Neil Hi Laura, thanks for your application. Auditions will be held in January (so to get the Christmas period over with first) If you are still interested in auditioning please let me know and I will send you the audition setlist. Doing the auditions in January will also give you time to become familiar with the setlist. (if you're not already). Thanks again and I look forward to hearing from you soon. Neill

    • Laura C Hi Des, apologies as I had't seen your comments on star now until just now. I don't know the name of the guy on the guitar as he recorded it over the track afterwards. He was a friend of the producer who was called Kundayi Cornelius Musinami, a Zimbabwaen guy who went to the Berklee school of Music in Boston (along with the guitar guy). He was incredibly talented. Look forward to meeting you soon. Laura.
