I've 'won' a number of Glamour photo sessions in the past, always being told I was "very photogenic". The only potentially paid modelling I've done to date was a shoot I was invited to participate in (through StarNow) down the Gold Coast, for 'stock photographs'. I enjoyed playing 'mum' to a few of the younger attendees 0:-D and I've done my best to date all my photos on StarNow for you. Aside from that, I've been involved in 'publicity shoots' for my musical theatre, and I once posed for a very appreciative 'still life' art class ;o}
As a quick aside, I've also done LOTS of Promo work, where although promoting the product is the main goal, I am well aware that my appearance and personality, charm & charisma are the REAL motivating factors! ;Op

I've always enjoyed getting out of the 'real world' and living in someone else's shoes for a while.
As a typical Gemini, I've no trouble adapting my personality for any role, and have been told that even as 'just' a Chorus member, my performance is "captivating" as I "remain animated through the entire performance"! :-D This is because, when on stage, I don't just play a role, I do my best to actually BECOME the character I'm trying to portray... trying to think and react how I imagine they would if the situation were real....
Although I have been involved in several short films now (eg. "POPCORN" and "GUARDS" - 2009, "A Vegan Life" - 2010), most of my 'acting' experience has been a part of my Musical Theatre experience - for example, playing lead roles in Musical 'melodramas' with Beau Belle Minstrels Inc. on various occasions between 2000 & 2006, and playing 'Doreen' (lead role) in "Waltz in Matilda", (Written by Ray & Gloria Swenson and performed in 2007), which was a musical play based on the story behind "Waltzing Matilda"(Sam was the name of the shearer that jumped into the Billabong, and Doreen his fictional? girlfriend).

I have also had many 'minor' principal roles in Queensland Musical Theatre productions since the year 2000, which involved both acting AND singing, which I will do my best to list below... having never done this before I'm relying mostly on memory...

My interest in Music began with my mother singing to me while I was still in the womb, then I was fed a regular diet of Musicals (as being virtually the only 'wholesome' entertainment on TV). So I grew up treating life like I was IN a Musical, making up songs as I walked to Primary School about everything I could see...

I did do a short stint when I was 18 (1994), singing for Weddings and Restaurants in Adelaide, but skipped town shortly after to give me more freedom to be 'me'.

I didn't officially sing in public again until 2000, when I sang lead in a BarberShop quartet at the 2000 Festival of Music a mere 3months after having joined them (and we placed third out of eight competing! :o}) I have also entered, and won, a number of Karaoke competitions, as well as being accepted into the State Finals of the Karaoke World Championships 2009, and being considered for Australia's Got Talent 2010, but my main Musical involvement since 2000 has been with two Brisbane-based musical theatre groups...

Beau Belle Minstrels - Northside based, 'professional' standard not expected, giving everyone an equal chance to 'shine' in musical 'variety' shows (see pics), shows built around the people and the talents available, mainly performing in Nursing Homes, Town Halls or 'Church' Halls, often assisting in charity / fund-raising events - one of their chief soloists, as well as performing in lead roles in their 'melodramas'.

Also, Queensland Musical Theatre - a much more 'professional' outfit, having in recent years celebrated their 25th year performing Stage Musicals (refer pics ), and the occassional 'variety' show - based in NewFarm (Teneriffe) and being regular performers at The Brisbane Powerhouse Theatre, Judith Wright Centre, Schonell Theatre and Twelfth Night Theatre, among others. There are generally two yearly 'runs' (June & Nov/Dec) - I have been assigned many 'minor principal' roles in Musicals, as well as performing as a soloist at many 'concerts'.

Unfortunately, despite my inexhaustable loyalty and support, the Beau Belle Minstrels group fell apart in 2007 due to internal bickering and constant attempts by bigger groups to poach our best talent (including me)... my best efforts just couldn't hold it together with only my talent and the raw enthusiasm of several others...this loss (as they were like a family to me) has left a gaping 'hole' in my life that I desperately wish to fill... any suggestions? O:-)


I love ALL types of Music, particularly songs with a 'story' and real 'meaning', and I've fallen for "Celtic Woman" in a huge way. Their combined vocals are reminiscent of my voice, but 100% more refined, polished and pure!

Although perhaps not to a professional standard, the 10 recordings on my home page will give you an idea of my singing styles O:-)

In addition to singing, I am also able to play a variety of musical instruments.. and highly adept at learning new ones! :)

It involved spending the whole day taking photos of children (mostly in shopping centres) on several occasions, by getting permission from their parents to enter them in a 'modelling competition' where Bettina herself would choose the 'winners'. Marita, the girl I reported to, can attest to the fact that both the quality of my photos and the quality of my 'candidates' consistently outweighed that of other 'employees' at the time... as did my feedback (though I appreciate that 'Recommendations' on Profiles are anonymous I suspect that Marita probably wrote one of them).
Additionally.... this one of the jobs I have enjoyed most !! :-D
