Singer/Songwriter, Recording Artist, Performer delivering jazz, nu-jazz and neo-soul music to audiences from America's coast to coast and abroad as far as Dominican Republic and Santiago, Chile. A native Texan, I make my home in the San Francisco Bay Area. Singing, recording, performing and songwriting consumes my world. I am a voting member of The Recording Academy (Grammys), San Francisco Chapter, aka ‘The National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences. Volunteerism on the Membership and Special Events Committees give me an opportunity to contribute my industry and business experience to further assist in supporting the art of music making. I was twice nominated for a seat on the NARAS Board of Governors 2005-2007 (singer) and 2007-2009 (songwriter). Influences are Sarah Vaughan, Peggy Lee, Carmen McRae, Betty Carter and Nina Simone. Original work is registered with ASCAP. Bands I'm a member of are Jazz Metropolis.
The band Jazz Metropolis is a San Francisco Bay Area performance band led by Sable Winters, singer/songwriter and recording artist. The music is an eclectic combination of jazz, funk, Latin soul, R&B and classic rock infusing Afro-Cuban clave textures.
We have performed together and collectively over the years at numerous regional venues in Northern and Southern California, Arizona and Oregon. Some Bay Area venues of note are Enrico's, The Downtown, Faz, Savanna Jazz, Rassalas, The Fairmont San Jose and Yoshi's of Oakland. International venues include Santiago Chile's Club de Jazz and Dominican Republic's Punta Cana Resort.
