When I was 18 I signed with RGM. I had just begun modelling and a month after I signed with RGM I got an opportunity to work/live in Paris as a model. I took that opportunity and continued modelling in Berlin and Hong Kong before returning to Australia. I never wanted to be a model. I found the industry soul destroying and superficial and felt like I had to leave my brains at the door. I wasn't inspired. When I returned to Australia I auditioned for acting schools and got into the Actors Centre Australia. Since graduating in 2012 most notably I landed a role in The Wolverine, a role in Jack Irish:Dead Point opposite Guy Pearce (airing on April 13th @ 8:30pm on the ABC) the feature film Infini, produced and directed by Shane Abbess and am currently on Home and Away playing Shandi Palmer. Working on set every day is such a blessing and I am very lucky. Home and Away is proving to be a fantastic learning curve for me. Once I am finished I am heading straight to LA again.

Last year I also did some short films Blood Pulls A Gun and Like Breathing. Blood Pulls A Gun was in the South by South West film festival, and I play the Mysterious Woman.

I also played Myra Arundel in Noel Cowards comedy 'Hayfever'. I adore being on stage. It is so invigorating and terrifying and there are no second chances. Once you've delivered the lines there's no going back (until the next night) and the rush and excitement I got from the audience each night was exhilarating.

The day after closing night I went to LA for meetings with agencies/managers. My first meeting was shocking!!!! The agent (who will not be mentioned) told me "not to tell people in the industry that you read books"!!!! I was quite disturbed that I'd come all this way and paid all this money to be told that. Fortunately, the meetings got better and better and the trip ended up being a highly positive experience.

I am well aware of how difficult it is to break into this industry but a few people of note that I have met along the way have believed in me and that is why I am applying for this scholarship. I believe I would be suitable for this role as I am a hard worker and I believe in myself and my ability
