Talent of the Month – Caleb Jordan

Caleb Jordan, who has Down syndrome, has already made international news after starring in a campaign for retail giant Target in Australia. Pretty good for a twelve year old! He may have difficulty hearing, but when it comes to being in front of the camera, he has no trouble communicating.

What was your first modelling job?My first modelling job was a fashion parade for a local charity The KidzWish Foundation wearing Myer clothing. I am an ambassador for the KidzWish foundation and have been involved in a number of photo shoots which has resulted in my photo used on flyers, banners, side of buses and a TV commercial. I also featured in the 'Kids of the Illawarra' coffee table book.

How long have you been on StarNow and how has it helped you?I have only been on StarNow for a couple of weeks and I am excited about what the future with them may hold.

What's the most fun modelling job you've had?I featured in two Target Australia catalogues in December 2015. I had great fun at the photo shoot. I was very excited to see myself in print and when the catalogues came out and even more excited to see my photo displayed at our local Target store.

Who is your inspiration?I would have to say Madeline Stuart. I love that she is leading the way for others with a disability like myself in inclusive advertising.

What's your favourite movie?I don't really have a favourite movie but I do love watching the NBL and NBA basketball on TV

Do you have any special skills not listed on your StarNow profile?I play basketball with Special Olympics NSW

What are your plans for 2017?I am excited that more and more companies are showing diversity and inclusion and I would love to have further opportunities to represent those with a disability in mainstream advertising.
