When playing with his father’s old war figurines, Teddy is immersed into an imaginative war game, driving a Tank through enemy lines. The mission? Save the Brigadier. Teddy’s mission? Save his father.

Short action-drama film with comedic undertones and a strong emotional core. 15 age rating in the action scenes with operational tanks, and armourer and pyrotechnics crew roles filled by professionals. NOTE: the role of teddy, the son, will not be interacting with the tanks or be required on any scenes with active pyrotechnics.

Shooting shall be split into two main sections, the first exploring a tough father son relationship post war, and then the imaginary action world the boy escapes to.

Aiming for mid-tier BAFTA recognized festivals - In the UK, the two biggest are the London Film Festival (October/November) and Edinburgh (June). In Ireland, the Dublin Film Festival takes place in February.

All minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

• Teddy is he 8-year-old son of a war veteran who is deeply troubled with PTSD, and a less than present Mother. • He is innocent and naïve, but not unaware of his parent’s situation. This troubles him as it would any child, but Teddy’s imagination helps him make sense of a world that is much bigger than him. • When Teddy puts on a damaged helmet belonging to his father’s crewman, he is brought into his world of make-believe.

• Theo is a more grown up (teenage), but still childlike, Teddy. In his own fantasy he plays the underdog, the kid in way too deep, assigned to the tank and in need of reassurance which he gets from Three and Action Stan. • Theo is confident and quick-witted, constantly coming up with suggestions on how to overcome tough battle situations.

Alan (The Father) / The Brigadier

• Alan Rawcliffe has PTSD from the Falkland war where one of his crewman was shot in the head in front of him. This will be revealed at the end through the B story where one of the ‘toys’, an injured Sergeant in need of extraction, the child is playing with is a mirror image of his damaged father. The Son still sees his father as a hero. • The Brigadier is Teddy’s projection of his father within his world.

Wild Card/Three

• Three is the driver of the tank, cynical and sardonic. He is war torn and hungry for it. • Almost like the mad-hatter this character injects humour and levity into serious situations - hungry for war and the driver of the tank.

Action Stan (Corporal):

• Action Stan is the impromptu name given by Teddy to the original 1966 Action Man figure, whose box name had begun to fade. • Throughout the film, Stan is just as determined as Teddy to reach their goal, he is the epitome of action hero, daring, brave, selfless.
