My background is in writing and photography. I have written a few feature screenplays and a lot of shorts in the past fifteen years. I aim to shoot one of my shorts (a 17th century period horror piece based on a true story) by the end of the summer. The script got to the finals in the Shore Scripts Screenwriting competition and was subsequently optioned by a London based producer. The option on the script has recently lapsed and I want to push to get this made because the story is very cinematic and something you don't see in other shorts.
The purpose of these projects is to get some experience first directing a few conceptual micro short ideas that I have on a no budget basis. I can then work out how much money needs to be raised to produce the horror short before pitching the concept.
If you're a cinematographer local to Portsmouth (or south coast based) and you want to collaborate on a few projects in the new year then feel free to apply and I'll touch base.
In terms of payment, I mentioned no budget above but I will compensate you for your time and efforts. I just need to know your rate in advance so we can discuss later.
