Two Young Actors Required for Short Graduation Film

Two Young Actors Required for Short Graduation Film

Guildford, UK
Listed by View details

We are a low budget production on a search for two actors to perform the lead roles in our graduation film ‘Petrol Station Girl’. This production is set to shoot 17th - 19th February 2020 in the Farnham/Guildford (TBC) area.

This project will be organised and run by a group of talented and passionate low budget student filmmakers from The University for the Creative Arts.

'Petrol Station Girl' forms part of our final year coursework and will be screened within the University however after being graded we have high ambitions to enter this short film into festivals to hopefully help launch our (and your) careers within the film industry.

The short follows Connor on his last night in his local town who plucks up the courage to finally confess his attraction to 'the petrol station girl', Katie who he admires from a distance every day on his way home from school. This interaction makes Connor realise reality doesn't quite match up with what he originally imagined. Katie encourages Connor out of his shell through a very innocent and endearing conversation. Following a difficult past causing much anticipation and anxiety, this is the first time Connor feels as though his voice is heard.

Unfortunately, as this is a low budget film we will be unable to pay you for your time however we will cover all travel expenses, provide accommodation and feed you throughout the duration of the shoot - as well as provide young actors with chaperones as required.

On application please supply headshots and a resume with your previous experience. A showreel is preferred but not necessary.

Auditions will be held in the Guildford area during early January date TBC.

All minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Young Female Actor

KATIE, 20 and stuck in a dead-end job at her local petrol station, she never imagined she’d end up there and she’s bored of the drilling fluorescent light and late shifts. She is somewhat reserved, easily mistaken for ‘cool girl’ who is often idealised by people who don’t know any better. In reality, she presses flowers and writes fanfiction, but she’s lacking any friends who can see that side of her, the real her. On her chance meeting with Connor, she’s kind encouraging Connor out of his shell

Petrol Station Girl

CONNOR is 13 and he cycles past the petrol station every day after school. On the last day before he and his family move away, he decides to break his routine, and confess his love to the girl behind the counter. He's young, naive and shy, he’s played this moment again and again in his head, and now he’s finally learning that reality doesn’t quite match up to the imagined. As a result of being bullied and an outcast at school, this is one of the first moments he feels he can make his voice heard
