We are seeking a lead dance artist/choreographer to design the conceptual themes for the Cultural Routes project and take a lead on the art form/mediums explored, ensuring that Cultural Routes remains by and for older people, whilst challenging preconceptions on what art by/about older people might look like.
The lead artist will also deliver a mentoring/development programme with up to two emerging artists over the age of 50 from January – May 2020. Over the course of the programme the lead artist will design a series of creative workshops with the emerging artists, with a group of 15 participants recruited through existing groups that work with Touchstones and local partners.
The final outcome will be premiered in Rochdale to improve the visibility of work produced by older artists and engage older audiences. It will also be presented at the age-friendly culture event planned in May 2020.
