The Production:

Blue Vibes Music is an independent record label based in Brisbane, Australia. Plan of Attack is an original musical comedy being written and produced by Makayla Ryan. The story is set in Brisbane during World War Two and the music is in Jazz and Swing style. Think girls in Australian Women’s Army Service uniforms, or pretty dresses, curly hair and red lipstick. Think guys in Australian or US military uniforms, or in suits, ties and fedora hats. Think Big Bands, swing dancing and lots of funny, romantic songs.

We are developing the 'Plan of Attack' Album - a collection of original songs written by award-winning Singer/Song-Writer Makayla Ryan. The theme is 'Brisbane during World War Two' and the music is Jazz and Swing. We anticipate that sales of the 'Plan of Attack' Music Singles and Album will generate bookings for Plan of Attack - The Feel Good Show'. Think guys in Australian and US military uniforms, or in handsome suits, ties and fedora hats. Think girls in Australian Women’s Army Service uniforms, or in pretty dresses with curly hair and red lipstick. Think Big Bands, comedic characters and romantic songs.

Employment Offer:

Casual Session Work. Corporate Training Sessions and Meetings are paid at $25.00 per hour. Song Workshops, Song Rehearsals, Song/Radio Play Recordings, Live Performances and Photographic/Film Shoots are paid at $50.00 per hour. You will have the potential to share in song-writing royalties. You will receive financial bonuses for coming up with great, innovative ideas and better ways of doing things.


Time Commitment:

The show is in the Development Phase. While Makayla is financing the show with her own personal money, (1) the work will be occasional, and (2) you can easily continue working in your other productions as per normal and do this this show as a side-gig. When Makayla secures funding from sponsors, investors, grants and public donations, the work will become more regular.


What You Need:

(1) Patience - The development of this show is a long, arduous and expensive process. If you are a patient and determined person, you belong on our team. If you want instant success, fame and fortune, you do not belong on our team. Please have totally realistic expectations so that you will not be disappointed.

(2) Costumes:

Men - (a) Mid to dark blue long-length jeans that are completely neat and tidy; (b) A black business belt; (c) Black business shoes (round, square or pointy toed), (d) Black business socks; (e) A clean, bright, white double-cuffed business shirt with white/clear buttons (cuff links will be provided); (f) A sharp black business suit (if you cannot afford this, please do not be concerned - just let me know as I have some spare suits). All other costume pieces (team T-shirts and World War Two items) will be provided for you.

Women - (a) Mid to dark blue long-length jeans that are completely neat and tidy (a little loose-fitting, and not tight); (b) red AND black stiletto high-heel shoes; (c) skin-coloured knee-high stocking socks; (d) a sharp black business pant suit (if you cannot afford this, please do not be concerned - just let me know).

(3) An ABN (Australian Business Number) to include on your invoices. It is your decision whether or not to charge GST.

Audition / Rehearsal / Production dates

We are currently in the process of recording a Radio Play (an acting job). You will get into the studio to record your part between October and December, 2020. You will start attending song workshops and rehearsals in early 2021.

Job payment

$50 per hour - Minimum 2-hour Call-Outs (Jobs)

Expenses paid - Most costume items will be provided.
