Phillip lives in the suburban foothills of Wiseman's Ferry, working as a semi-successful writer and poet. He has a daughter, Olivia, who is eleven years old. Phillip spends most of his time writing and gardening. Since the tragic death of his wife, Phillip has lived in a fantasy, an idyllic world, where his life imitates his art. He bought a dog to distract himself and his daughter but when the dog dies, it's hard to escape reality.

Young Female Actress Required for Lead Role
Olivia is eleven. She lives with her father in their small suburban home. Olivia's best friend was her dog Jackie. She doesn't get on very well with people from her school as she's afraid of what they actually think of her. Olivia is shy, she paints portraits and collects seashells, turning them into necklaces and hanging pieces. After the death of her dog, Olivia reaches out to the one person she knows the best, her father but he doesn't seem to be coping either.
