The short is being made by film students from Bond University who all have practical experience on film sets. We are happy to let you use clips for your demo reel.
The film is set at night time (Christmas Eve) in Australia. Depending upon our filming location, we may decide to film during the day and block out the sun. Our Director has a blue card and is legally certified to work with children. Our other crew members also have experience with children and strive to make it a fun and safe environment for everyone.
The film tells the story of a little girl who is woken up on Christmas Eve from sounds coming from the living room. She comes out excitedly, hoping to see Santa Claus. However, instead of St Nicholas himself, she sees a stubbly man wearing all black who is stuffing expensive household items into a large sack...
The man in black introduces himself as 'The Anti-Santa'. Unlike Santa Claus, who brings people new items each year, it is apparently his responsibility to go into people’s houses and take stuff that they do not need anymore.
After convincing the Anti-Santa to let her be his ‘helper’, Sophie must efficiently help him collect the most precious items in the house before the night ends. During the course of the night, they wake up her little brother, Timmy, who ends up helping them in their quest. However, they must not wake up her father (a police officer), because otherwise, according to the man in black, "Santa won’t be happy".
Note: the questions below are just something to help us get to know you better. You don't have to celebrate Christmas or anything like that to get the part. We just want to learn about you as a person.
Also, even though the drawing has a girl who is blonde, we are casting children of all ethnicities and hair colours.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us via StarNow or email (provided upon application).

Timmy is a very kind and curious child. He has a stuffed bunny rabbit named Mr Freckles, who is now so old and worn that he is missing an eye and has a ripped shoulder. However, Timmy still loves him anyway.
