ABOUT THE PRODUCTION:

Based on a true story, Bakery Hill - An Australian Rebellion is an original dramatic musical and is the deeply personal and moving account of the people and events of the Eureka Rebellion in 1854.

SYNOPSIS:

"In 1854, at the peak of the Australian Goldrush, tensions are rising between a desperate Government on the verge of collapse and thousands of oppressed diggers in search of a life and land to call their own.

When a young Australian-born digger arrives at Eureka, he will be caught at the centre of an ever-escalating conflict that will see stockades rise and diggers fall.

On Bakery Hill, under a southern cross, a new nation will learn the real cost of gold and the true value of freedom."
