Multiple Actors Wanted for New Play in Ealing

Multiple Actors Wanted for New Play in Ealing

London, UK
Listed by View details

Theatre is back! We are holding auditions for a new play, written by Tyler Jake Gray and directed by Olivia Maiden. It's a Victorian tragedy, Wilde meets Christie. We are performing at Questors Theatre in Ealing, London.

'The Deceiver' is set in Victorian England, New Years Eve, where secrets, lies, and deceit are commonplace. It is the night before a much-anticipated dinner party. Theodore Evington, heir to the Earldom of Cassock, receives an anonymous letter from the 'Deceiver' who threatens to reveal a devastating family secret that has stayed buried since childhood. When a raging blizzard outside traps the guests in Theodore's home, tensions start to rise. A paranoid Theodore must unveil the identity of 'The Deceiver' before multiple secrets are broadcast and sends the family crumbling to pieces before his eyes. Nobody is innocent.

There are no small parts! The characters are all complicated and three-dimensional, driven by the desire to compete for status or escape the societal pressure to conform. All guests are suspects in Theodore's mind.

Both Tyler and I study at the METFilm School in Ealing Studios. Although more experienced in film production (you can watch previous experience here: (link provided upon application), we're both really excited for all the cast and crew to join forces to create something really special together on stage. We're also hugely fortunate to have MET behind us, supporting us with their resources, rehearsal space and equipment. This also gives us the unique opportunity to record the production for an online streaming platform and for the actor's showreel material.

We will be holding auditions in September in person at Ealing Studios, dates will be released shortly. Rehearsals can be made adaptable to the actor's commitments but will be from December, most likely on weekends. We will be performing the play at Questors theatre in Ealing from the 10th-13th February. These dates are fixed. Either the dress or tech rehearsal will be filmed. Ealing Broadway is the nearest tube station (10 minute walk from the Studios) and is on the TFL rail, central & district lines.

Unfortunately, the roles are unpaid but we're really hoping to make this a fun, collaborative experience for everyone involved. This opportunity is most suited to those currently in, or just out of drama school - or more mature actors getting started who are wanting a new, exciting script to dig their teeth into! We would really love you to be involved, we truly believe we can create something magical together.
