Empowering the Artist: Empowering The Artist creative online experience offers an in-depth look in the preparations needed to creating a prosperous and rewarding career. Extending actors beyond their previous training and understanding of what to expect from life, as well as what is expected of artists in both performance and self-promotion. This includes but not limited to Empowering The Artist; The Business of Acting; Goal Setting & Intentions: Career Development, Marketing and Life Skills; Self Care & Motivation; Theory & History of Acting, Film & Television; Truth in Performance: the artistic self vs the daily self; Create Your Own Content and The Artists Showcase.
Truth in Performance: Acting is the life of the human soul receiving its birth through art! It’s a process. Multiple truths are possible. Whether it be Film, Television or Theatre the difference in mediums isn’t one of big versus small; it’s the difference of where you look for and discover your TRUTH. Your character's story begins in the middle, not the beginning. Actors need to embrace a broad palette of tactics and techniques, to live through any situation demanded by authors or writers. It’s not comfortable to play great parts. It takes work! Let's do the WORK!
The Ugly Truth: This MASTERCLASS will focus on finding THE UGLY TRUTH in your performance. Attention will be paid to actors specifically on their understanding of:

Applicants must submit: 1. Upload a recent self tape and/or showreel. 2. Roughly a 2 minute chat to camera (selfie style is fine) as to why you are excited to train with AAFTA & what "the art, the artist, and the business" means to you? 3. Attend our online scholarship announcement and information seminar on Friday January 7, 2022 at 1:30pm PT/Saturday January 8, 2022 at 8:30am AEDT via Zoom. If you can not make this session you must notify us in advance or your submission will not count.
