YOU'RE SKITTING ME: SKETCH COMEDY @ AFTRS OPEN THIS DECEMBER
Are you interested in writing and performing comedy sketches?
Do you like TV shows like ABC3's You're Skitting Me? and Horrible Histories?
Well, AFTRS Open, the short course division of the Australian Film Television and Radio School, has a fantastic new course during the December school holidays, where you'll work with the head writer from ABC3's You're Skitting Me and learn about:
· What is sketch comedy, and how it is created
· Coming up with ideas that are funny, and also appropriate for a G and PG target audience
· Turning your funny idea into an even funnier script
· How to turn that script into an actual sketch with your classmates
You will work in a collaborative environment brainstorming ideas, and then work in teams writing short sketch comedy scripts. Some of these scripts will be rehearsed and videoed, ready for performance and screening for your parents and friends at the end of day 3.
This is not a technical course, it's for aspiring writers, comedians, actors and directors and it's all about creativity and fun.
DATES: 15 - 17 December
