'False Impressions'

A Crime/Drama/Mystery short film which takes inspiration from the book "The Last Day of a Condemned Man" by Victor Hugo.

Synopsis: England 1800. James Ackerman is condemned to death for the murder of Prime Minister Spencer Perceval, and while in his prison cell, he writes a journal about his innocence. England 2015. Daniel Thompson is murdered in an alley and Detectives Rebecca Walker and Nicholas Smith investigate his case. At first, it looks like an argument gone bad, but soon they realise that Ackerman's journal could be not only the key to solve Thompson's murder but, it could also prove Ackerman's innocence. But what if the journal has something more to hide between its pages?

This will be a great opportunity for actors to showcase their talent and 'False Impressions' will be shot with a RED Dragon Camera. Shooting will take place in Oxford in February 2015.

Rebecca Walker

She is a police detective and a very strong and independent woman. She is used to being on her own but, when she is partnered with Nicholas, things start changing in her life. 'Becky' is very professional on her workplace and a determined detective. She can be dangerous if crossed and she likes to have the last word in a conversation.

Nicholas Smith

He is a police detective. Nicholas is the new entry at the police station so he lets Rebecca boss him around. He is funny and always ready to make jokes, but when the situation requires it, Nicholas is very professional and focused. He has a special bond with his partner, Rebecca, and he always tries to push her beyond her limits and walls.

James Ackerman

James was born in London on the 15th of September 1784 from a poor family. He worked as an errand boy. He was accused and then condemned to death for he murder of Prime Minister Spencer Perceval on the 11th of May 1812. He writes his feelings in a journal while in prison, and also the truth on how he was framed for a murder he didn't commit.

Ian Humphrey

Ian is a successful book writer. He is very rich and well known by the pubic, always well dressed and he lives in a big old mansion with a huge park. Ian is very arrogant and he also has been hiding a big family secret. He is also very presumptuous.

Daniel Thompson

Daniel works in a second-hand bookstore part-time then he spends the rest of his day watching TV at home and drinking. He lives alone in his flat and he is very unpleasant and untidy. Daniel will be murdered in an alley after he finds James Ackerman's journal.
