What we are looking to do is take on a series of short film projects with the primary goal of getting some real working experience on a film shoot and to improve on our skills. We thought the best way to do this would be to work on getting a team together that can get used to working with each other as we take on on a few different projects.
We have the first short ready to go and it will work as a sort of trial run to see if we jell as a team. If it works out then we can take on other projects and start getting a bit of a folio together... also we can look at entering into film festivals and such... get some CV fodder along the way.
The viability of this project relies on getting a bunch of people together who are hard working, dedicated and committed to the project. Ideally we are looking for people at the start of their career so that we are all entering it on the same foot. Also, whilst we all like to have fun along the way, we are wanting to work with people with a professional attitude who know when to work and when to break - the idea is to get experience working in a professional environment so that is what we are looking to create.
A little about me; I have had about 15 years experience as an actor in film and television but primarily theatre. I have also had about 6 years experience as a director. I have run my own Theatre as well as a production company; we have produced over 20 different productions in the last 4 years. Our primary focus to date has been theatre but we are looking to make the move into film and hence this project.
I will state out front that there is no money in this for anyone at this stage... commercial endeavour is not the aim of this project. Our primary focus (for now) is just getting the experience, if it works out... who knows? I know full well that this can be seen as exploitative but genuinely I feel that if we all come in with the same aim and intention then we all get something out of it.
Our first short has been chosen as it is a relatively easy project- a small amount of actors, one location, one night of filming.
We are looking for a sound person to join the crew. If you have your own equipment that is great, otherwise we have a basic setup you can use. We are wanting someone with a good ear for detail who can be present on the shoot, do their own recording (we will have a boom operator if you require), and be in charge of every stage of the sound for the film.
In terms of the musical score, we have someone lined up already who can take this on... but if the right person comes along who also wants to take on that aspect then that's something we can discuss.
If this sounds like something you would be interested in then please do get in touch and we can arrange to meet up and talk about it.
All minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Unpaid – this is a collaboration opportunity
