Due to last minute casting hiccups I'm looking to cast one woman's role very urgently so please please apply immediately if you fit the role and are available right now! Rehearsals are June-August on Tuesdays and Fridays in St John's Church, Kingston but the rehearsal schedule for this play mean the early ones are the ones that this character is in and that's why it's so urgent. Matinee and evening performance at Arthur Cotterell Theatre, Kingston on 5th September. Looking to cast 1 woman 18-30. The play is about two girls who become best friends in a children's home. Nicky Brewer loses her parents in a road accident and moves in with family, her uncle is violent and abusive and she ends up in hospital (which we don't witness) and Canadian Sam Barnes is unforgiven by her Mum after getting herself into some trouble when she first arrives in England. Neither girl has anywhere to go but into care. The girls form a band called Flavour and make it their mission to make life better for themselves and the other residents. When the kids in other local homes start coming up with their own ideas, Flavour have a bigger impact than they ever expected. How will Nicky's fight for justice turn out, will Nicky and Sam find happiness and love for themselves and what will be the ripple effect for teens in general of what they started? This play is to raise money for the NSPCC.
Aunt Geraldine (Geri) is Nicky's aunt and although she means well she doesn't believe Nicky's story about Derek (her brother) and is angry at Nicky and very unsupportive. She and Nicky were once close but her behaviour leaves Nicky not wanting to have any relationship with her.
