I'm producing a short film called Sonder, and for our last scene, we're filming a burlesque performance to a full audience in a club basement.
What is it about?
Sonder is a film that’s one of a kind. It explores the beauty of the ‘everyday’ through choreography and music. Directed by charismatic dancer, Myfi Mountford and produced by Georgette Gregorio Mason (me), this film will tell stories of the people we walk by in the street, sit next to on the bus, or just pass by.
So, we follow five random people. Snapshots of their lives are presented through music and dance. From a playful young girl dancing in her home to a confident burlesque dancer in her 70s, we meet wonderful characters from all different walks of life. These characters link seamlessly into each other in a ‘passing of the baton’ style that showcases the idea that each passerby has a life as striking as your own. We end the film with a spectacular and electrifying on-stage performance by Rhoda and her dance troupe who join with the audience in a dance spectacle.
What are we looking for?
We're in search for some budding supporting artists who can play the audience. We already have some extras but we'd love more! There are two scenes that you'll be a part of: 1) the burlesque club, 2) the street dancing scene. For the club scene we need to create a buzzing atmosphere; movement, energy and enjoyment. For the street scene, we simply need you to walk down a street and then pull a move, easy peasy.
When and where?
We're filming on the 28th of March at The Glory.
