On the 7th of December the Welsh Film Institute (in Welsh "Sefydliad Ffilm o Gymru"), a non-profit business dedicated to supporting independent film, is launching a range of certificated training courses which will provide a deep and wide range of knowledge in film pre-production, financing, production, post production and sales, run by some of the most knowledgeable and educated film producers, director, cinematographers and teachers in the World.
We shall be offering "real life" tutoring in both London and Cardiff, as well as Open university style online home study courses, DVD schools and text books.
We start on the 7th and 8th of December with a world famous 2 day course certified by the Hollywood Film Institute and taught by Dov Simens, the teacher who taught Quentin Tarantino before he made Reservoir Dogs, Guy Ritchie before he made Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Spike Lee, Will Smith and countless other Hollywood royalty, grossing over 7 billion in box office. If you want to learn the business side of the film industry, this is your place to start! The course will be held in London, but coach travel from Cardiff will be provided if required.
We have a limited budget through which to disperse grants and bursaries for people wishing to take these courses and further their knowledge and careers. Please respond to this message with a detailed description of what experience you already have in the film industry, what your career goals are, what you would like to further your knowledge of, and why you require a bursary. We will also need to know where you are based, whether you would like to attend the course on the 7th and 8th of December, and your preferred learning methods, either live tutoring, online courses, or DVDs and textbooks. We will need your name, phone number and email address.
