Tropfest NZ 2015: Call for Entries

New Zealand
Listed by View details

Tropfest is the largest short film festival in the world. And it's now in NZ!

Tropfest NZ is inviting filmmakers of all backgrounds and levels of experience to get out there and start making short films for submission into Tropfest NZ. Anyone can enter and anyone can win.

Films must be 7 minutes or less, Tropfest NZ must be the premiere of the film (including online) and your short must include the Tropfest Signature Item (“TSI”) for 2015 - 'WIRE'. Filmmakers can include the TSI in any way they choose, either as a main part of the film or a very subtle inclusion.

There are no budget restrictions for Tropfest NZ, either maximum or minimum. Films can be about anything and are judged on the strength of the idea, rather than their production value.

Tropfest NZ is a premier global platform for launching filmmakers’ careers, and we want YOU to show thousands of people in New Plymouth’s spectacular TSB Bowl of Brooklands what story YOU can tell – whether it’s shot on a 70mm camera or on a mobile phone!

From the submitted entries, Tropfest NZ’s judges will select up to 16 finalists that will screen at the Tropfest NZ main event on Saturday 14 February 2015.

Tropfest NZ was established to encourage production, not just exhibition. Our event is not just about ‘showing’ films – it’s about ‘making’ them.

Create a film less than seven minutes in duration, submit it, and you could win $10,000 as well as networking with some of the industries finest!

All minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
