At the tender age of 5, I first sang along to Elvis’s song ‘Return to sender’ and have never looked back since.

My dad (Danny Lee) first put me on the stage when I was 6 years old in front of a packed house at the Odeon Cinema in Hereford.

Although I was never picked for the school choir, I entered Whitecross High Schools’ first ever talent competition when I was 15. I fronted the school band singing “You’ll never walk alone” and “8 days a week”.

This and my dad inspired me to carry on working and singing with various bands and as a solo artiste up to the present day.

My first proper gig was with school band ‘Orion’ in a packed front room in Highmore Street, Hereford at Zala Briggs’s 14th birthday party on May 15th, 1982.

At 21, I met fireman Bob McCron who played keyboards. I joined his 5 piece club band ‘Sagittarius’ and for 6 years we played in and around Hereford, Birmingham, Gloucester, Cheltenham, Swindon, Bristol, South/mid Wales at clubs, private parties etc.

Two years later I started learning to play the guitar which later stood me in good stead when I fronted local 3 piece band ‘Cyan’.
Unfortunately this came to an abrupt end after 5 years when my uncle Neill tragically passed away.

Neill was a very proficient Bass guitarist and had taught me to play the Bass guitar too.

The Leominster based band ’Full Circle’ was my next move as the vocalist for the next 3 years.

At this time I discovered I had a talent for impersonating various people such as Roy Orbison, Tom Jones, Elvis, Robbie Williams, Shirley Bassey, Norman Wisdom, Al Jolson, Neil Diamond, Tina Turner, Axel Rose, David Bowie and Gerry Marsden. Performing as a solo artist this gift has allowed me to entertain a much wider audience incorporating the impersonations into my regular act of a guitar/vocalist.

I've appeared at The Blackpool Opera House (largest theatre in Europe) in the ‘Hands on Deck’ charity show and filmed by Central TV, was one of many occasions at this great venue whilst performing alongside the UK’s leading entertainers of Joe Longthorne, Roy Walker, Cannon & Ball and Johnny Casson. I have frequently worked with Tony Jo (ex Grumbleweeds) as well as supporting and working with Jimmy Cricket, the Hollies, Dave Berry & the Cruisers and Jet Harris (ex Shadows bass guitarist). Performing my tribute to Gerry Marsden (Gerry and the Pacemakers) with ‘The Beatles Experience’ tribute band was part of ‘The Brian Epstein Years’ theatre show that toured the country with tremendous success. Other venues also include the Lakeside country club and the Wentworth Golf Club and internationally I have performed in Minneapolis (USA), Cyprus, Majorca, Tenerife, Malta, Lanzarote and on cruise ships. I have also worked & toured with educational music projects and Festival 4 Stars shows in venues all over the UK .

I have recently been involved with the production & release of the updated 3rd version of the Hereford United football club song which celebrated the 30th anniversary of the original recording on vinyl that was written and sung by my dad (stage name Danny Lee). In 2015, I released an updated version of the Hereford United song for the new Pheonix football club Hereford FC called Hereford forever United we love you to bring in line with the new club badge motto.

As well as presently singing solo, I also sing with Tippo the drummer and my sister Kaz.

Influences include, Andy Strong (commitments), Joe Cocker, Paul McCartney, Sting, David Bowie, Elvis, Tina Turner, Matt Munro, the Rat Pack (Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr, and Dean Martin, ), Bing Crosby, Joe Longthorne and of course my dad.

TV & Reality

Working on the first pilot of Frank Skinner’s show, ‘First impressions’, gave me the opportunity to work in live television. It was filmed at the London Weekend Television studios in front of a live studio audience in 2002. Unfortunately this got shelved and was never shown.

I got through the Judges Auditions on 2 occassions for Britain’s got talent . In 2009 (when Diversity won it & Susan Boyle came 2nd), I had 2 yes’s, 1 no, 1 buzz & in 2014 I had 4 yes’s & no buzzes but never made it into the live televised semi-finals.

I got through to the battles (Last 48) on the Voice UKIn 2015 too.
