Before my car crash i loved to dance. Music is what kept me going throughout my childhood.... i would channel my emotions let it all out in dancing. I took dance in college and school . I did ballet and loved how i started to understand dance wasn't just anything, I listened to the music the story telling and flowed the music in dance . I understood the technical side and the rhythm side. I found it very difficult when I gave up dance because my wheelchair was seen as a hinderance in dance classes. So i decided to fall back in love with dancing at home. I started to learn a different way of dancing with my wheels. It's not easy when no one wants to dance with me because they see me wheelchair as a barrier. You see to me my wheels are my strength they are an extension me. For me to try everthing and am keen things work i have to embrace what i have and own it to thrive. I learnt to adapt and move freely flowing with the music i started to share my story through dance once again from my wheelchair. If the audience can really engage with watching me dance , I will know i am dancing when. I start see emotions from the viewers. I believe in myself and hope others can see and believe i can dance too. You don't needs legs to dance. You need your heart to feel the beat if the music to move you body and my body will flow down to my wheelchair.
