Influences: Cat Stevens, James Taylor, The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Carlos Santana, The Eagles, Steely Dan, Stevie Wonder, Etc.
Performing: I have performed solo and with bands for a number of years - since I was a teenager really. At the moment I play as a solo act with acoustic guitar as well as in an acoustic guitar based trio: "The Slippermen/Los Chancleros" and in "Seeds", a 4 piece band playing my original songs.
"The Slippermen", consisting of myself, Dawn Biard and Daniel Barea, perform a lot of Latino style songs both mellow/background type and upbeat "got to get up and dance' numbers. We usually throw in a few well known English language tunes as well. We've been playing at pubs and private events for the last three years or so. It's a lot of fun for us and our audiences and we pretty much always keep going back to play wherever we've played!
"Seeds" plays my original songs. I guess we're a blues, rock, country, folk or pop band depending on the song we're playing at the time but rooted in bluesy rock for the most part.
Songwriting: I've been writing songs for many years and have a fairly large catalogue divided into a variety of categories, i.e. adult contemporary, Christian worship music, children's gospel and educational songs. As far as genres go, I've done a bit of everything: classic rock, blues, blues rock, reggae, country, folk, contemporary acoustic guitar based, hip-hop/rap, Latino (bossa nova, bachata) etc.
Recording: I recorded an album of original songs when I was working in Myanmar (about 10 years ago) with a top band there. A number of songs I've written have been produced by others. I also produced and co-arranged an album of children's educational songs that was a big seller in Myanmar in the mid-2000's.
Technical: I worked in a professional studio in Bangkok, Thailand for about five years and have a good grasp of most aspects of recording and production. I continue to write, record and produce from home.
