Through StarNow I landed the role of a wrestler paid to lose all his fights in the short film 'The Fall Guy'. Since completion, it has been officially selected for 3 film festivals, including one which very nearly landed us in Hollywood! The film looks set to be accepted into more festivals and may even become a feature film. Watch this space!
I've been fortunate enough to make it into the sixteen top finalist films in Tropfest (the largest short film festival in the world) twice, from castings and contacts on StarNow - 'Stakeout' in 2010 and 'Inside' in 2013. StarNow is a great place to start and continue a career in the entertainment industry. I highly recommend it.
Before signing up for StarNow in 2011, I had little to no experience as a screen actor. It's helped me gain experience in front of a camera, from commercials to small independent films and allowing me to build a suitable showreel to showcase my passion. I have now been signed by a top UK agent and have been cast in a TV show produced by ITV.
I've gone from appearing on Australia's Got Talent in a metal band to being on 7mate's Bogan Hunters, as well as a main role the feature film Dumb Criminals. I've since landed myself an agent and scored a small speaking role in the new Nine Network show Hyde & Seek.
Since joining StarNow 10 months ago, I have been picked up by an agent who was advertising with StarNow and went on to feature in an Ikea TVC, a Stagecoach TV advert, a short film for festivals, selected to join an amazing dance troupe called 'Breakout Dance' and danced and played the lead orphan in 'Annie'. in the West End.
I decided to try StarNow for 6 months and had only been actively setting up my profile in the last couple of weeks when a Casting director contacted me via private message to offer me a acting role in a Feature Film. A very positive start with StarNow.
I needed a performer for an incredible animatronic costume of 'Tooth' from 'Rise of the Guardians'. Thanks to StarNow I now have a fantastic and committed actress who is just 4'9" tall! Our 'Tooth' has become a star and has delighted thousands at shows across the UK. I hope we can persuade DreamWorks to make a sequel.
I have been using StarNow since 2009 as it allows me to apply for projects I am interested in. When I first started using the site it was mainly used by film students and I did short films to hone my craft. Over the years it has led to bigger roles including Catwalks, Feature Film roles, TV series roles, and Lead in a TVC for a Bank.
