Past volunteer Tour Guide for Opera Australia for many years. (Stage extra for Don Carlo!)

In 1990's I was a founding member of an inspiring acapella group called the Balmain People's Choir, performing world music, gospel & original compositions.

I still remember many songs including Zulu, Macedonian, Spanish, Hebrew & several other languages eg South African national anthem, French, Japanese etc. Our musical director, Stephen Taberner taught us to sing phonetically in these rich & varied languages.

In 1997, I sang with members of the Gates of the Cafe of Salvation, doing a gospel tour of New Orleans.

(My vocal teacher has a jazz, rock & pop background, but also trained classically at the Royal College of Music & the VCA. She was also semi finalist in 2010 'Australia's Got Talent' with her 3 girl Andrew Sisters style act, now called The Star Sisters.)

I've performed with several community theatre & pro-amateur productions of musicals including Bankstown Theatrical Society, Riverside Lyric Ensemble & Packemin Productions. (See Acting profile)

Music theatre industry professional, Queenie van de Zandt has told me that my voice was very much like that of Judy Garland in timbre & warmth. I used to think I was a contralto like Judy, but since my teacher discovered I'm actually a lyric soprano, my range has extended significantly in recent years.

I've been learning classical & opera technique since 2012 (mainly with the intention that I could then be able to sing almost any style) & it has made a great difference! I'm now able to sing quite a range of soprano operatic repertoire.

I admit the voice recordings I've uploaded on my StarNow profile do need updating, because they really don't represent how I sound now. (I'm in the process of starting work with a Sydney studio to do some recordings this year.) Until then, please kindly give me a try & have me audition for you in person.

I particularly love singing soulful music that draws people to me & caresses, touches them deeply. People often remark how surprised they are after they have listened to me sing, as to the ' tonal beauty' of my voice.

Female singer influences include Barbra Streisand, Rosemary Clooney, Karen Carpenter, Edith Piaf, Maria Callas, Linda Ronstadt & Norah Jones. I also enjoy quite a range of styles including Classical, Opera, Popular, Blues, Jazz, etc.

Singing is my major life passion & it has also taught me a great deal about the relationship I have with myself & with life. What joy it is, to be able to give other souls in this world, an experience of the power of music & of the human voice!
